Kingswood Secondary Academy

Ski Trip 2014

The annual Kingswood ski trip took place in the first week of the Easter Break.  The following is an account of the week from Hayley Copas, trip organiser.

This season I decided to ditch the glamour of the States in favour of our European slopes.

Prato Nevoso was our destination, a small but friendly resort nestling amongst the Mondolè mountain rangein Italy.  Although the group was small everybody formed a bond with one another, and it was a pleasure to observe the interaction between the Year groups.

Despite the searing heat the skiing was excellent and the beginners group made vast progress culminating in them skiing (in the loosest sense of the word) a black run.

Equally the advanced skiers furthered themselves with sharpening their existing technique and getting ‘good air’ in the jumps.

My personal favourite memory - along with the group – was the night tubing (‘tabooning’).

Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were a credit to one another and to Kingswood.  I look forward to organising 2015!
